- Description
- Nishiki-e (Multicolored Print), ink and color on paper. A road in the foreground with shops and tea houses and travelers is dwarfed by the imposing figure of Fuji that is centered in the image. Fuji’s size is emphasized by the peak breaking out above the frame of the image. This was a common convention to emphasize Fuji’s grandeur in prints. At the foot of Fuji is the usual mist, green hills, and fields.
