Mt.Fuji is more prominent in the background to the far right of this print beyond the marsh and trees. The houses of the village in this version are also smaller and more numerous than the second version. This version was published in both Hoeido and Senkakudo.

Below the hill in the bottom right corner are the roofs of a nearby village. The rain is finely rendered with a subtle layer of ink. In the distance, the gray silhouettes of the bamboo bend under the force of the winds.

Other travelers cross the bridge and arrive at the teahouse. On the other end of the bridge are the steep roofs of other buildings along the bare shore of the river. This is the first version of two that was published by both Hoeido and Senkakudo, in this print the man dismounts the horse rather than mounting it.

Other travelers cross the bridge and arrive at the teahouse. On the other end of the bridge are the thatched roofs of other buildings hidden by brush and trees along the river. This is the second of the two versions of this print and it was only published by Hoeido. The most significant difference is the man mounting the horse rather than dismounting.
