- Nishiki-e (Multicolored Print), ink and color on paper. Depicted is an extremely zoomed in view of a set of steps leading up to a gateway, the edge of which can be seen in the upper left. Three men are lower down the steps presumably on their way up to join the crowd already inside. The crowd is only seen from the waist down and closely packed together suggesting a chaotic scene. As the title suggests this is a scene from the Dojima rice market or rice exchange. This was the center of Edo system of rice brokers, which could be understood as the forerunning to the modern banking system.

Some kind of algae or other vegetation hangs down from the bottom of the bridge. Further down, the river is filled with several other boats. Along the right side of the image teahouses and restaurants busy with patrons and decorated with red lanterns line the riverbank.

- Nishiki-e (Multicolored Print), ink and color on paper. A colorful river scene. A large number of ornately decorated boats fill the okawa river. Large orang plumes from nearby celebratory fires fill the air. The scene depicts the Tenjin festival held every July since the 10th century. The festival is centered around Tenmangu shrine and dedicated to Sugawara MIchizane, the god of scholarship. The festival included both a land and river procession as well as large fireworks displays.

Various restaurant visitors mill about the garden. The building of the restaurant surrounds the garden on the right side and back of the image. Restaurant customers and staff walk around the outer halls overlooking the garden. In the upper left-hand corner, there is a monkey climbing a part of the building structure.

- Nishiki-e (Multicolored Print), ink and color on paper. The bustling theater district is depicted as a crowded mass of buildings along the canal in Donton-buri. Various small boats fill the waters in the lower half of the composition. On the left side, the black bridge leading out of the frame is filled with people. Various colorful banners rise above the roofs of the buildings, advertising the various theaters and productions. The tiny figures of theatergoers and wealthy patrons fill the balconies overlooking the water. Kado-za was one of the major theatrical districts of Osaka where Kansai-style Kabuki was performed. Donton-buri is still a major city center in contemporary Osaka and some of the original theaters still exist in updated buildings.

To the left a small earth bridge crosses the pond to the far side. On the far side there is a stone lantern surrounded by various foliage and an organic rock formation evocative of Chinese landscapes and scholar rocks. On the right side, a path lead up and off the image. Kawasaki Toshiko shrine was for the Tokugawa family that was ultimately abolished in the 6th year of the Meiji.

Inside are two courtesans, one either reading or write a piece of calligraphy and the other smoking a long pipe. The wall inside the display room is painted with an ornate scene of red crested cranes and waves against a golden backdrop.

In front of the shop, the street is filled with various travelers and townspeople, including itinerant monks, families, and merchants. The inside of the shop is equally populated with customers and color-dyed cloth. In the upper left corner, a small cityscape can be seen above the roof of the shop to create a sense of distance.
