- Guatemalan Defense Minister Brigadier General Óscar Mejía Víctores (1930-2016), center, walks along the casket of Archbishop of Guatemala Cardinal Mario Casariego y Acevedo, who died of a heart attack in Guatemala City, Guatemala, June 15, 1983. Mejía Víctores deposed General Efraín Ríos Montt in a coup d'état on August 8, 1983. In 2011, Mejía was prosecuted in Guatemalan court for his command responsibility in genocide and crimes against humanity committed by the military during the civil war. His failing health in the years prior to his death forced prosecutors to drop the charges before he could stand trial.

- View of mourners in a funeral procession for a member of the political party Alianza Republicana Nacionalista, National Republican Alliance, ARENA, who was killed during the 1982 campaign for presidential elections, central El Salvador, March 1, 1982. ARENA was founded in 1981 from a convergence of the landowning oligarchy and the extreme anti-communist right. The party received formative support from Guatemala’s fascist ultra-right political party Movimiento de Liberación Nacional, National Liberation Movement, MLN, and from influential members of the Republican party of the United States. Founding member and party leader Roberto D’Aubuisson was known to have close ties to the death squads and had a reputation for extreme violence.

- This video shows the funeral service for former Peace Corps Volunteer W. Dennis Grubb, which took place at the Washington National Cathedral on November 16th, 2021. W. Dennis Grubb began serving in the Peace Corps at age 19 in 1961, shortly after the program was launched by then-President John F. Kennedy, Jr. Stills of the Cathedral's ceilings, stone carvings, and stained glass windows are shown throughout the first minutes of the service while an organ plays in the background. The Rev. Canon Jan Naylor Cope, Provost of the National Cathedral, presided over the service. Journalist Maureen Orth, activist and philanthropist Timothy Shriver, Suleiman Vasti, and the Rev. Cope gave eulogies of Mr. Grubb in celebration and remembrance.
