- The Children's March for Survival to be held on March 25, 1972 in response to President Richard Nixon's veto of the Child Care Bill. The march was organized by the National Welfare Rights Organization with the purpose defeating HR 1, advocating for universal child care, universal health care, fair wages to support families, adequate housing, educational reform, tax reform, ending hunger, and ending the Vietnam War which negatively impacts the lives of children around the world. The images were originally labeled "Welfare Rights Demonstration (4-7-1972)."
