The Yippies were in Washington, D.C. to attend the counter-inaugural, protest activities against the 1969 inauguration of President Richard M. Nixon.

Across the river are open fields and a road leading to a small village. Fuji is the center of the images partially obscured by the trees. Site located in Meguro, Tokyo.

In the foreground, a series of jagged cliffs topped with vegetation and pine trees cut diagonally from the bottom right corner to the top left. On the upper precipice in the top left, two travelers look out over the watery vista dwarfed by the cliff face around them.

- Nishiki-e (Multicolored Print), ink and color on paper. A perilous cliff overlooks the sea, even called frightful in the title of the print. At its base the water is rough as it crashes and churns against the rocks. Travelers climb the steep path up the cliff, pine trees line the road as they go. Fuji is above the foot hills and sea, set against a sunset sky.
