Primary tabs
- Okay, today is September 29th.
- We're at Art All Night in Mount
- Pleasant.
- Could you tell us your name?
- Hi, I'm Valeria.
- Hi, and we're so glad you're our
- first interview of the night.
- Would you tell us a little bit
- about your relationship to Mount Pleasant?
- Okay, I'm from Colombia and I moved to Mount Pleasant.
- It was the first place that I have ever lived since I came to the
- U.S.
- And I love it so much.
- I think it's a great neighborhood.
- I have made all my friends in the
- neighborhood.
- I have been in like different
- cities of the U.S.
- But I haven't found anything like
- Mount Pleasant.
- Like I feel the warmth, I like to
- walk and find the neighbors.
- Like Mount Pleasant is a
- community.
- You get to know, even when I bring
- friends to visit me and they get surprised when we walk around and
- I know my neighbors like it's a community.
- Oh that's terrific.
- You put on the we're doing in the
- exercise outside the truck and you put a note about your favorite
- place in Mount Pleasant.
- Would you mind telling us about
- that? Yes, I put that my favorite place
- in Mount Pleasant is a house that is located in Parrow.
- I put this house because it is so colorful that it's a different
- house from the rest.
- And they always put really cool
- decorations for Halloween, for the cherry blossom season.
- Every season they put something and I love it.
- I love to walk by the house and had that moment to stare at it and
- look at the creations.
- And when a quick question how long
- have you been in the neighborhood 3 years 3 years and have you seen
- any changes since you've arrived? Yes, when I arrived it was the end
- of pandemic so the neighborhood was kind of like a little bit like
- closed like we didn't have all the all the restaurants that we have
- now open so yes more has more like life because there are new
- restaurants or the stores are open again so I got to see that
- different.
- Oh, that's great.
- And what would you like for the future of the neighborhood?
- For the future of the neighborhood, I don't know, maybe
- to like try to stay this way as a community and have the offer for
- the different restaurants.
- And I like a lot that is very
- family friendly and I get to see the kids.
- So maybe having like another playground for kids to have like
- more of the space for kids, outdoor space for the kids.
- But just like keep working on being good how it is right now.
- Thank you so much for sharing, I appreciate it.
- Okay.
