    You want to tell me a little bit about what's the meaning of this park for you? What do you like about this place?

    I like the skating.
  • Mykia Charles
    Me too and the playground.

    How long have you guys been coming here?
  • Mykia Charles
    A long time.
  • Aionna Butler
    This is my first tim.
  • Dan Kerr
    How long have you been skating?
  • Mykia Charles
    Not long cuz I can't skate.
  • Aionna Butler
    I've been skating since I was one.
  • Dan Kerr
    Who'd you come down here with?
  • Mykia Charles
    My mom, my aunt, and my cousins.

    My mother and my cousins.

    So is this a good place to meet up with your family?
  • Mykia Charles
    Yes.
  • Dan Kerr
    Are you guys related or just friends?
  • Mykia Charles
    This is my cousin.
  • Dan Kerr
    You guys all live all over.
  • Aionna Butler
    We live in the same area.
  • Dan Kerr
    And so what's what are your earliest memories of this park?
  • Mykia Charles
    I was on basketball court and fell and hurt my butt.
  • Aionna Butler
    I fell in the skating rink. It was the first time I fell since I was born.
  • Dan Kerr
    Really? So tonight what were some of your favorite things that you did?
  • Mykia Charles
    Skating.
  • Dan Kerr
    You like the music?
  • Mykia Charles
    Yeah, I was dancing
  • Aionna Butler
    We went to the water.
  • Mykia Charles
    Oh yeah, we were over there by the water.
  • Dan Kerr
    What did you guys do over there? Just walking around?
  • Mykia Charles
    Yeah, we just sat right there because I didn't want to fall.
  • Aionna Butler
    We put our skates on. When we were coming back, some old ladies told us...

    that we gotta get off the grass cuz there's holes.
  • Dan Kerr
    Okay, so tell, let's say five years from now ,what would you like this park to be like?
  • Dan Kerr
    So a bigger and better skating rink.
  • Aionna Butler
    A bigger skating rink. A better skating rink.
  • Aionna Butler
    Yeah, and they need to give out knee pads.
  • Aionna Butler
    I'm going into 6th.
  • Dan Kerr
    What grade are you guys in?
  • Mykia Charles
    I'm going into 7th.
  • Dan Kerr
    What school do you go to?
  • Mykia Charles
    I'm going to Meridian.
  • Aionna Butler
    I'm going to [inaudible] Academy.

    Any other thoughts you want to leave everyone with?
  • Aionna Butler
    This is a fun park.
  • Mykia Charles
    They just need bigger bathrooms.
  • Aionna Butler
    Bring some knee pads.
