Nishiki-e (Multicolored Print), ink and color on paper. In a parade scene, viewers watch on either side of the road as the parade leaders, musicians, and ceremonial riders enter from the bottom right-hand corner. According to the title, this is the Tenno Festival which is an annual festival in the Aichi region dedicated to the deity Gozu Tenno, the God of plague, pestilence, and health. In the current day, Gozu Tenno has been amalgamated with the deity Susanoo, the god of sea and storms.
